US sees ‘nothing overtly aggressive’ in ‘significant’ movement of Russian troops near Ukrainian border

A top US general has claimed that his country’s analysts have spotted a major movement of troops on Russian territory, in the proximity of Ukraine, while adding that the purported deployments are not necessarily a show of force.

Speaking during the Aspen Security Forum on Wednesday, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, said the Pentagon had noticed a “significant amount of military movement on the Russian side of the Ukrainian border.”
