Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov asserted that “more than a dozen” nations have expressed interest in joining the economic bloc made up of Brazil, China, India, Russia, and South Africa after the Brics nations decided to explore additional members. It should be noted that Algeria, Argentina, and Iran have applied to join Brics, despite the foreign minister not mentioning the interested nations by name. Not only them but also Afghanistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey are considering joining the Brics.
