Despite the widespread protests engulfing his country, French President Emanuel Macron recently traveled to China to plead with Premier Xi Jinping to denounce Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and bring Putin to the negotiating table. Macron was reportedly unsuccessful in gaining the denunciation, but China has expressed an interest in helping broker peace in Ukraine — something that might help Macron at home with all those protesters.
