With voting having closed in Russia’s parliamentary elections, it appears that Russia’s ruling party may have lost a sizable share of its votes compared to 2016, potentially ending up with fewer than half of all ballots cast.
According to the exit polls and those votes counted so far, the Communist Party (KPRF) is set to be the biggest winner from the drop in support for United Russia, the governing faction backed by President Vladimir Putin.
