Soldiers are going to be killed protecting Israel and the public has to accept this for the Jewish State to keep existing, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi said following backlash over a border guard’s death.
“A society that doesn’t back its soldiers and commanders, including when they make mistakes, will discover that it has nobody to fight for it,” Kohavi wrote on Saturday in what Israeli media described as a “highly irregular” public letter.
