A fourth wave of Covid-19 has kicked off in Germany, according to the nation’s top disease prevention and control agency, which also reported a growing number of cases among children and young adults.
Overall, positive Covid tests in Germany rose from 4% to 6% in mid-August, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) said in its latest weekly report published on Thursday. The infection rate has been on the rise since at least the beginning of July, the health watchdog said, adding that the disease is increasingly affecting those aged between 10 and 49.
