Wildfires continue to rage in southwestern Turkey, with a new massive blaze now threatening tourist hotspot Bodrum. At least six people have been killed by fires that devastated large swaths of forest and destroyed multiple homes.
The new blaze erupted on Saturday in wooded mountains next to the popular holiday resort town of Bodrum located on Turkey’s Aegean coast. Footage from the scene shows a wall of fire towering above the town.
