American Marines will be sent to the US Embassy in Haiti, President Joe Biden said, though he added that a larger deployment to stabilize the country in the wake of President Jovenel Moise’s assassination is “not on the agenda.”
“We’re only sending American Marines to our embassy” to ensure “nothing is out of whack,” Biden said during a Thursday press briefing. “But the idea of sending American forces to Haiti is not on the agenda at this moment.”
