Dustyesky – one concert at Opera House

Dustyesky is forever grateful to Russian people all over Australia and the world.  Without you we would not be performing at the Sydney Opera House.  It is an incredible privilege to be doing this and testimony to the enduring power and wonder of the magnificent Russian songs that we sing.  Spasibo Bolshoi!  We look forward to seeing many of our Russian friends in Sydney and hope we can share a tea together from the Opera House samovar or maybe even a vodka – or possibly one of our famous gherkin liqueurs.  ‘Why nyet?’

Dustyesky has a confession to make to Russians everywhere.  When we first went to sing for a Russian audience for the first time in mid-2017, at the Community Centre in Brisbane, we were, despite being strong and hairy, wise and handsome men – in a word – terrified.  You see, we had listened with love to the great performances of the Red Army Choir, of Ivan Rebrov, Vladimir Albatayev and others.  The tradition is so rich and magnificent, how could we meet the high standards of a Russian audience?  Somehow, we did.  What a gift we were given by you.
