Australian authorities announced a downward trend in new Covid-19 infections for New South Wales on Tuesday. They are still urging people to be vigilant, however, as new cases have been detected outside the current virus cluster.
The cluster was detected in Sydney’s northern beachside suburbs in mid-December, and it has grown to 129 cases. About a quarter of a million residents will remain under lockdown until January 9 to stop the spread of infection.
