The Russian Embassy in Washington has once again called on the US to extend the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START), due to expire in February. The decision to end the agreement was made unilaterally by the White House.
New START is the primary tool regulating Russian and American nuclear arsenals, but has been repeatedly attacked by President Donald Trump, who has refused any offers from Moscow to continue the deal past its upcoming end date.
