Heavy rains rocked Sardinia early on Saturday, causing floods and mudslides, with Nuoro’s Bitti city bearing the brunt of the storm. La Nuova Sardegna newspaper reported electricity and internet blackouts in the city as rescue teams struggle to tackle the disaster.
