Serbia’s decision to move its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the city which is a major bone of contention in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, violates international law and is deeply concerning, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.
“We are deeply concerned about Serbia’s decision to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. The annexation of Jerusalem by Israel was rejected by the international community and the United Nations”, the Turkish ministry said, adding that “the relocation by any country of its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem is a clear violation of international law”.
