Over the past six years, some 120,000 bodies of missing WWII soldiers were recovered by Russian volunteers dedicated to bringing lost fighters home. These groups of enthusiasts operate on land, and also at sea, looking for the wrecks of ships and submarines, to honor the crews’ memory.
