The head of the World Health Organization has said the Covid-19 pandemic won’t be successfully tackled until the world deals with the inequalities that have allowed the virus to wreak havoc across the globe.
Speaking at a virtual briefing on Wednesday, Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that, although the pandemic will eventually ebb away, it will not be possible to return to business as usual unless there is major investment in health systems and inequalities are tackled.
