Thirty-five Republicans joined Democrats Wednesday in passing a bill to create a bipartisan, independent commission to thoroughly investigate the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, giving hope to backers it might also pass the Senate, despite Republican leader Mitch McConnell’s opposition. Nikole Hannah-Jones, a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist and MacArthur Fellow, was denied tenure following conservative outcry over the 1619 Project. A survey by Harvard Business School has found 81% of people who have been working from home through the Covid-19 pandemic either don’t want to go back or prefer a hybrid schedule.
