Senior Iranian Lawmaker Says Tehran Needs to Sign Strategic Partnership Pact With Moscow

Iran and China signed a “historic” 25-year Comprehensive Strategic Partnership agreement on Saturday after five years of grueling negotiations. The pact is believed to include commitments for hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of Chinese investment in Iran, and strategic cooperation in fields ranging from culture to technology and defence.

Having established a strategic partnership pact with China, it’s now time for Tehran to turn north and reach similar long-term strategic agreements with Moscow, Mojtaba Zonnour, chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s national security and foreign policy committee, has said.
