Tehran earlier deplored increased military movements by Washington in the Persian Gulf marked by the arrival of US warships for naval drills that served to amplify tensions in the region. While voicing hopes for de-escalation ahead of the upcoming change of administration in the White House, Iran intimated that it was ready for “any scenario”.
Tehran has issued a warning to Washington against any manifestations of “adventurism” aimed at militarising the Persian Gulf, Iran’s state news agency IRNA reported.
