The head of Russia’s Sovereign wealth fund has told RT that Moscow sees Covid-19 as a threat surpassing political differences, and rivalry, and wants more international cooperation to be harnessed to defeat the pandemic.
Kirill Dmitriev says that is why his organisation has partnered with British-Swedish pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca to test a combination vaccine. “The most severe and I would say really unethical aggressive criticisms [of Sputnik V] were coming for competitive reasons and for geopolitical reasons,” the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) explained, adding that Russia has been working to dismantle bad-faith arguments with facts.
