WhatsApp, Twitter, TikTok in Trouble in India For Allegedly Spreading ‘Anti-National’ Propaganda

With the widespread use of smartphones and internet, the Indian population is pretty active on social media. Apps like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter, and TikTok are used extensively, in some cases to push fake or unverified information.

Police in the Indian city of Hyderabad have registered a case against leading social media platforms, such as WhatsApp, Twitter, and TikTok for their alleged anti-national activities in spreading rumors and arousing parochial sentiments during communally volatile situations in some parts of the country.
