EU to tighten travel rules, bar unvaxxed from bloc

The EU is recommending member states only let in travelers from outside the bloc if they are vaccinated against or recovered from Covid-19. Under proposed rules, travelers would need a booster shot every nine months.

In a proposal issued on Thursday, the European Commission recommended that as of March 2022, the EU’s 27 member states only allow in vaccinated, recovered, or essential travelers (like truck drivers) from outside the bloc. Prospective travelers would need to prove that they were last vaccinated no more than nine months before entry, a move that essentially makes booster shots mandatory for most travelers.
