Efforts to trace the origins of the coronavirus are being “poisoned by politics,” the head of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) emergencies program has said amid a row between the US and China over the Wuhan ‘lab leak’ theory.
“We would like for everyone out there to separate, if they can, the politics of this issue from the science. This whole process is being poisoned by politics,” Dr Mike Ryan told a WHO briefing on Friday.
