Anders Lee’s report came from the NBA’s playoff bubble. Earlier this year, several NBA teams decided they wanted to go on strike to protest police brutality. The strike action quickly spread across teams and sports until it seemed like change was going to come. Unfortunately, President Barack Obama decided to step in and de-escalate their actions. Natalie McGill reported on that time that the largest private equity firm in the world was buying Ancestry.com. In other words, some of the world’s richest people were getting ready to profit off of our genetic data.
