On 28 August, two Su-27 fighters from the Southern Military District’s air defence forces on duty were scrambled after Russia’s air defence control systems detected an aerial target approaching the country’s state border over the neutral waters of the Black Sea, the National Defence Centre said.
A video of an Su-27 fighter intercepting a US Air Force B-52H strategic bomber over the Black Sea has been published online on the US Defense Visual Information Distribution Service website.
